TRAIN OPERATIONS

NARRATOR

Reading from a prepared script, the Narrator rides on the train and uses the public address system to point out the historic sights along the trip.

TRAIN CREW

Our friendly train crew makes a ride on the Wilmington & Western a trip to remember! As a member of the crew, you'll ride on the train, punching tickets and conversing with the passengers. Starting as a Trainman, you can progress to Brakeman and Conductor.

ENGINE CREW

Once qualified on the train crew, you can move into the locomotive cab as a Fireman and Engineer. You'll learn what it takes to operate a diesel or steam locomotive.

TRACK CREW

With a lot of enthusiasm and a little training, you can help maintain our tracks and learn both old and new methods of track reconstruction.

SHOP CREW

As a member of our shop crew, you'll work with a project leader to repair and maintain our historic collection of steam and diesel locomotives, as well as our antique coaches and cabooses.

GREENBANK STATION

TICKET AGENT

Our ticket agents greet visitors, sell tickets and answer questions at Greenbank Station on operating days.

GIFT SHOP PERSONNEL

Gift Shop personnel work in our Gift Shop and assist with sales and general information requests on operating days.

ODDS & ENDS

BUILDINGS & GROUNDS

Have a green thumb? You could help maintain the grounds at our Marshallton engine house, Greenbank Station and Mt. Cuba Picnic Grove.

EVENT PLANNER

Help with the organization and planning of one of our many special events throughout the season, as well as our annual volunteer picnic and dinner.
