The Wilmington & Western Railroad is owned and operated by Historic Red Clay Valley Inc. and our mission is to preserve and interpret the natural, cultural and railroad heritage of northern Delaware, and specifically the features of the Red Clay Valley, for the education and enjoyment of the public.

The Wilmington & Western includes 10 miles of track and a fleet of historic locomotives, passenger cars, and cabooses - many of which are more than 100 years old - but we cannot operate and maintain this unique piece of Delaware history on ticket sales alone.

We rely heavily on the generous support of our friends and benefactors to help ensure a long life for Delaware's only operating railroad museum.
