On select days during the year, our 1929 Pennsylvania Railroad "Doodlebug" railcar No. 4662 leads our Yorklyn Limited excursion to give our passengers a truly unique experience. No. 4662 is a self-propelled, all-in-one train - it is one part locomotive, one part passenger coach and one part baggage car. Trains such as this were usually referred to as "Doodlebugs" by railroaders, and they saw service on lightly-used branch lines where it was not economical to operate a multi-car, locomotive-hauled train.
Seating is limited on the Doodlebug, so be sure to make reservations early to experience this historic piece of railroad equipment.
The Doodlebug will power the Yorklyn Limited on the following days this summer. Click the departure time for more details and to purchase tickets.
