COVID-19 REOPENING PLAN


We want to thank all those serving on the front lines, so all health care workers who show proper ID will receive a complimentary ticket through September! We truly appreciate all that you're doing to help others during the pandemic.

As we welcome you back aboard our train, the safety of our passengers and staff is our highest priority.

As a result, we are instituting the following changes to our operational procedures, and requiring that passengers and staff adhere to additional health and safety rules while on our property.


UPDATED SEPTEMBER 11, 2020:

  • The Greenbank Gift Shop has reopened.


UPDATED AUGUST 25, 2020:

  • Masks are now required for passengers age 5+.

  • The Mt. Cuba Picnic Grove has reopened.

  • Food and beverages are permitted aboard the train for enjoyment at the Mt. Cuba Picnic Grove, but food and beverages cannot be consumed aboard the train.


SCHEDULE & OPERATIONAL CHANGES:

  • Tickets WILL NOT be available at Greenbank Station on the day of your excursion. TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED ONLINE.

  • We are modifying our published schedule and operating only on select dates through September. We expect to return to our traditional schedule starting in October. Please see our Events & Fares page for the latest information regarding our current events and modified schedule.

  • If there is inclement weather, the excursion may be cancelled.


FOR OUR PASSENGERS:

  • Those who have been exposed to COVID-19 within the 2 weeks prior to their excursion or those who have symptoms of COVID-19 (including extreme fatigue, fever over 99.5 degrees, cough, diarrhea, nausea, headache, loss of smell or taste) MUST NOT visit.

  • All passengers age 5+ MUST wear a face covering while on Greenbank Station property and aboard our train, unless you have an underlying health condition. Please notify Carole Wells at carole(at)wwrr.com if a health condition prohibits you from wearing a face covering and you are interested in riding the train.

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available at Greenbank Station and aboard the train.

  • Food and beverages cannot be consumed inside Greenbank Station or aboard the coaches. However, food and beverages may be brought aboard the train to be enjoyed at Mt. Cuba Picnic Grove. Those renting the Birthday Caboose are permitted to bring and consume their own food and beverages aboard the caboose.

  • Passengers are required to follow the directions of our staff at all times, including when boarding and disembarking from the train.


FOR OUR STAFF:

  • Those who have been exposed to COVID-19 within the 2 weeks prior to their scheduled work day or those who have symptoms of COVID-19 (including extreme fatigue, fever over 99.5 degrees, cough, diarrhea, nausea, headache, loss of smell or taste) MUST NOT report to work.

  • All staff MUST wear a face mask at all times while on Greenbank Station property and aboard the train.

  • Gloves MUST be worn by our staff when coming in direct contact with the public. This includes during the boarding and disembarking of the train or if emergency medical attention is needed.


ABOARD THE TRAIN:

  • All passengers age 5+ MUST wear a face covering while aboard the train, unless you have an underlying health condition. Please notify Carole Wells at carole(at)wwrr.com if a health condition prohibits you from wearing a face covering and you are interested in riding the train.

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available aboard the train.

  • The train will be disinfected before and after each excursion.

  • Seating will be limited to 30% capacity.

  • The Birthday Caboose will continue to be available, but caboose capacity will be limited to 15 people.

  • All coach seats WILL BE ASSIGNED to ensure proper social distancing - family units will be seated 6' from other passengers.

  • Coach and caboose windows will be required to be open to create air circulation through the train.

  • Coach restrooms will be permitted to be used only in an emergency.

  • You may bring food and beverages aboard the train to be enjoyed at the Mt. Cuba Picnic Grove, but food and beverages cannot be consumed aboard the train. However, those renting the Birthday Caboose will be permitted to bring and consume their own food and beverages.

  • Our train crew WILL NOT be punching tickets, and we will be eliminating paper tickets during the first phase of reopening.

  • Passengers will be directed by the train crew to disembark from the train row-by-row, car-by-car.


AT GREENBANK STATION:

  • All guests age 5+ MUST wear a face covering while on Greenbank Station property. Please notify Carole Wells at carole(at)wwrr.com if a health condition prohibits you from wearing a face covering and you are interested in riding the train.

  • No-touch faucets and paper towel dispensers have been installed for your convenience and protection.

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available at Greenbank Station.

  • Tickets WILL NOT be available at Greenbank Station on the day of your excursion. TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED ONLINE.

  • Guests MUST follow social distancing guidelines while on Greenbank Station property.

  • We will be limiting the number of people inside Greenbank Station.

  • Clear protective barriers have been installed at all point-of-sale counters.

  • The Snack Bar will be closed until further notice.

  • Food and beverages cannot be consumed inside Greenbank Station.
